Dr Harold Robers

Clinical Psychologist/Marriage and Family Therapist

Dr Harold Robers is a USA-trained clinical psychologist, marriage and family therapist and EMDR trained, with almost 30 years of professional experience. He received his training in clinical psychology from the Rosemead School of Psychology and the University of Southern California. He engages in therapeutic work with both Western expatriates and Asians. He specializes in interfacing neuroscience and psychotherapy. Dr Robers has been trained in a variety of approaches including: psychodynamic, gestalt, cognitive-behavioural, EMDR therapy, marriage, family & child and bio-feedback therapies, as well as TRE and other neuro-psychological approaches.

Dr Robers provides psychological assessment and consultation services to children, adolescents, adults, organisations and statutory boards. He trains and provides supervision to professional psychologists and therapists as well as lectures at several tertiary level institutions.  Dr Robers also provides executive coaching for neurological change and development for corporations and senior executives. He is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA).

Ann Robers

Psychotherapist/Marriage and Family Therapist

Mrs. Ann Robers is a USA trained psychotherapist in individual, couples and family therapy, with more than 20 years of professional experience in both short–term solutions and brief therapy as well as long term psychotherapy for personality and eating disorders.  She has worked extensively with children, adolescents, adults and couples; and provides employee assistance counseling.  She utilizes a variety of therapeutic methods including psychodynamic, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), schema therapy, client-centered marriage and family systems, and cognitive behavioral methods. Besides psychotherapy, she has done training for different groups of population: teachers, parents, students & couples.

Emily Cheah

Psychotherapist/Psychological Assessment Coordinator

Emily Cheah joined Psycare in 2001. She provides counselling and psychotherapy and is involved in psychological assessments for children and adults. Emily engages with individuals and couples to find meaning, resolution and personal empowerment in the following areas: self identity and relationship, family of origin issues, trauma, life transitions. She is committed to helping individuals address specific concerns and/or personal growth and development. Emily’s therapeutic approach is integrative and person-centred. She uses psychodynamic, gestalt, EMDR and mind-body therapies with a focus on family of origin and inner child work. She has interest in integration of spirituality and psychology.

Emily graduated with a Master in Social Science (Counselling) from Edith Cowan University and a Graduate Diploma in Psychology from the University of Southern Queensland. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce.

Tan Yih Sze

B. Sc., B. ID., M. Comm., M. Soc. Sc. (Counselling)

Yih Sze has more than 25 years of professional experience in corporate management, management consulting, organizational development, people / career development, coaching and psychotherapy. Besides seeing clients in private practice, she has worked with youths / youths-at-risk and their families with abuse, trauma and attachment disorder histories within or outside of residential treatment facilities, referred by psychiatrists, MSF, schools and community services. She also trains staff in corporate, educational institutions and clinical settings.  

In therapy, Yih Sze exudes a deep understanding and respect of each person's individuality and unique physical, psycho-social and spiritual context. She empowers individuals, couples and families with skills and emotional resources to heal traumas, navigate through current distresses, find closure, develop resilience and achieve personal growth. Each session is an intuitive and individualized blend of evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as cognitive-behavioural therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, gestalt therapy, developmental needs therapy, EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, Brainspotting and other neurosensory-informed psychotherapy techniques with principles of psychodynamic and inner child work.

Yih Sze holds a Master degree in Social Science (Professional Counselling) from Swinburne University of Technology, Masters of Commerce from University of New South Wales, and Bachelor degrees from National University of Singapore and University of Canberra. She is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.

Adrienne Sng

Clinical Psychologist

Adrienne has over 15 years of experience working with children, youth and adults on issues like behavioural matters, attention problems, school concerns, anxiety and mood disorders, social adjustments as well as other clinical matters.   

As a clinical psychologist, she actively engages her clients in bid to help them restore their sense of well-being and enhance their mental health. Adrienne believes in  working comprehensively with children, youth / youth-at-risk, families and other stakeholders through counselling, psycho-educational assessments and a range of therapeutic interventions to bring about positive change. As a trainer, Adrienne gives talks and offers training for a range of agencies like statutory boards, voluntary welfare organizations as well as religious organizations.

Adrienne presently holds a Masters in Psychology (Clinical) from James Cook University as well as a Post Grad Diploma in Marital and Family Therapy from Birbeck College (University of London) and Counselling and Care Centre.
